Dr Johannes Wittmann

Dr Johannes Wittmann graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1994 and has been in specialist gastroenterology practice at the Mater Hospital Brisbane since 2004. He completed his specialist training in Sydney and London and works as a part time staff specialist at the Mater Hospital Brisbane and in private practice with colleagues from the Mater Hill Gastroenterology group at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. He is a RACP National Examination Panel member since 2010 and each year assists with the clinical exams at various sites around Australia. Dr Wittmann is involved with peer education activities including the ongoing training and support of endoscopy staff and participating in national meetings as invited faculty.

Dr Wittmann provides comprehensive endoscopic services including interventional endoluminal stenting,  endoscopic ultrasound, upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy services and general gastroenterology and hepatology consulting services. His special interests include screening colonoscopy and viral hepatitis.

Dr Wittmann sees private patients at the Salmon Building offices of Mater Hill Gastroenterology and inpatients at the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. Public patients and uninsured patients not able to self-fund procedures if needed should be referred to the Mater Hospital Brisbane via the Business Referral Centre.
