A FibroScan is performed in our clinic and usually takes around 10–15 minutes. You’ll lie comfortably on your back while a small probe is placed on the right side of your abdomen.
The scan is painless, you may feel a light tapping sensation. There is no sedation involved, and you can drive and return to normal activities immediately afterwards.
We ask that you fast for at least three hours before your appointment, but you may drink water and take your usual medications unless advised otherwise. If you have any questions before the scan, please contact us.
